Berry Lime Pie Shawl
Whip up this bias-triangle shaped shawl, working from the narrowest point, with all the increases on the same side of each row. The colors of the variegated yarn instantly evoke images of mixed berries with a twist of lime or whatever fruit depending on the luscious variegated yarn colors of your choice!

Learn new stitches and skills with every block! The class provides all the instructions you need to make 12 different squares! You’ll build confidence one block at a time each month with our expert instructor – Susan Lutz Kenyon.
After all the blocks are created, we’ll block, assemble, and add the edging in sessions 13 and 14 which will be held in 2020.

Block of the Month Yarn Selection Come into the store on January 13th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm to select the yarn* you’ll use throughout the year. You can pick up all the yarn you’ll need or just the colors for that month’s block. We’ll discuss color and yarn choices to help guide you to the perfect afghan! Yarn must be selected and purchased prior to the first session.

In this introductory class, students will learn terminology used in crochet, the basic crochet stitches: chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet. In week 3, we’ll start crocheting a hat.
Materials/tools: Size G or H crochet hook, practice yarn, and Cascade 220 Superwash Merino.
Class Description: Crocheters worldwide have gone wild about the Corner-to-Corner technique! Amazingly, you can master Corner-to-Corner crochet with only basic stitches such as chains, double crochets, increases, and slip stitches. Class includes complete step-by-step instructions to complete a shawl.
Materials/tools: 1 skein of Berroco Nebula or your choice of fingering weight yarn, Size H or 7 (preferred) crochet hook. Yarn must be purchased at 2 Needle Chicks, preferably in advance of the day of class).

Have you heard of the Virus shawl? If not, then help us spread the virus by joining this class. This fabulous crochet shawl is addictive and crochets up quickly. The pattern is a chart, which Susan assures us is super easy to follow. Once you get the gist of the pattern you will be off and away in the flow of the pattern.
Susan chose Cascade Yarns Anthem Chords to complete her Virus Shawl but any self striping yarn will work well with this pattern to create gorgeous waves of color!

Learn the basics of cast-on, knit, and bind-off in this beginner class. For this class, we will work on a hat, scarf, or fingerless gloves (your choice) which will teach you all the basics.
Experience None needed - this class is for complete beginners who’ve never picked up knitting needles before, or for those that maybe learned a long time ago but have forgotten and need a refresher class.
Class Size Minimum class size is 3; maximum class size is 10. We reserve the right to cancel if enrollment drops below 3.
Materials/tools We will provide practice yarn. Other supplies such as knitting needles in appropriate size for project, yarn for project, large eye blunt needle, tape measure or ruler, and scissors must be provided by student. Yarn to be purchased at 2 Needle Chicks.
Knit a basic sock (blue sock on left in photo) using fine needles and special sock yarn. You will learn to use double pointed needles, turn a heel and create a gusset. The instructor will discuss ways to ensure a proper fitting sock. Pre-requisite: You must be able to cast on, cast off, knit and purl.

Want to get your kids hooked on knitting? Do you have a budding fiber artist in your home? Keep those little hands busy! No previous experience required. Whether they want to learn the basics or just want a group of fellow kid-knitters to hang out with, this camp will get them set up. They'll learn how to cast on, bind off, knit, and purl. We'll supply DIYarn for learning. Knitting Needles, yarn for project, and book are additional.
