Hearthside Fibers is an independent dyer of high quality wool and wool blend yarns and fibers, located on a farm in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Larry & Lael Wilson, started dyeing fibers in 2010, but their love of quality wool goes back many more years when they ran a flock of over 100 ewes on their farm, Maplewood North. Today, the sheep are gone and their fibers are now sourced from quality American and European mills, giving them time to create beautiful yarn for the knitting and crocheting community.
They hand dye their fibers in a multitude of colors. They have a core group of bases and colors that they are forever building on, offering new colors as trends come and go, bringing in new bases as they discover them. Their focus is on quality and color inspiration and, while they strive for a certain level of consistency, they also believe that hand crafted products should offer the artist something unique – something different from factory produced fibers.
