This short row, very popular Papillon/Butterfly shawl, looks lovely in either a long transition multi-colorway or in placed color. There is a lot of counting and this is very important. It is not a great project to knit while only partially focused in the short row sections. But there is also a lot of plain, garter knitting employed. For every short row section, there are rows in between that are more simple to execute. Skills required for this project include: Cast on, knit, purl, slip, increase, short row, and bind off. Please know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. We'll teach slip, increase, and short row skills in the class.
Let us help you knit this beautiful shawl! Class will meet four times and you’ll leave with your shawl underway to continue happily on your own or come back to the shop to continue knitting with us!
Please purchase the yarn kit and pattern at least 2 weeks prior to the start of your selected class as we do not have the yarn in stock.
Needles: Circular US 04/ 3.5 mm, 40" (you might like something shorter to start)
Notions: stitch markers, needle or hook to tuck in ends.
Due to COVID 19, class size will be limited to no more than 4. The good news is that there is no minimum class size. Please note, if you do not cancel at least 1 week prior to the class, the class fee is forfeited. There are no refunds.
